Gather
together the following ingredients:-
Small nightlights
or white candles (plus holders… enough for every room)
Incense.
Charged water and
salt mixture (separate bowls with a small amount of water in one and plain salt
in the other)
Prayer or
Ritual
Depending
on what your religious persuasion is (or isn't!) Gently pour the water into the
salt, adding a prayer or invocation. (Here is an example of what I would say as
a Universalist)
"May the
blending of these elements… pure salt to preserve the sanctity and pure water
cleanse this space," in the Name of ........." (here add your own prayer or
finish the invocation to whichever deity you have belief in)"
or use this
complete invocation....
"May the blending of these elements… pure salt to preserve the sanctity
and pure water cleanse this space,
May the energies of Air, Earth, Water and Fire, Cleanse this space and make it
whole.
May any lost souls be returned from whence they
came.
May Love and Laughter fill this space and dispel
all that is negative or unseemly.
May all who dwell here do so in Peace and
Harmony.
So mote it be! so mote it be! so mote it be!"
This must be done in a meaning full
and 'sacred' way.
Take
the water, and either using your fingers or a little brush, sprinkle the
water around the walls of every room every door and every window.
Pour the remaining
salt/water mixture in a line in front of any doors leading in and out of the
building.
As you work be
sure to recite the names of all who live in the house and all those people whom
you wish to pass freely in and out (also all pets that need to go in and out)
You can write them on a piece of paper beforehand if you wish and if there are
many of them....this allows them to move with ease across the boundaries that
you are setting up. You can also allow for visitors that will be welcome by
adding at the end of the list "and all those who come here with good intent and
whom we wish to see"
Go back into all the rooms and
light a nightlight or small candle (leave it to burn our safely)
Its is also nice to end this
cleansing by placing a fresh bunch of flowers in the main room of the house.
If you can carry this little
simple ritual out in the correct frame of mind, and in a serious way, it may
well be all that you need to bring tranquillity back to your home.
May the Blessed light bring Joy
to your home!
Blessings!
